EXCELLENT Based on 2297 reviews I5004YEmichelles2025-07-09Verified Highlight of Our Trip - Joy's Tour is a MUST!!! An Amazing Tour! We met Joy while walking along the beach at our resort. He approached us to tell us about his boat tour & at first, we were a little bit hesitant, mainly because he is not affiliated with the resort. (He needs to be!) However, after chatting with some other people who had gone before us & only had great things to say, we decided to take the chance as he came highly recommended! And we are so glad we did - It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! You get to see a lot of the island in one trip & it was well worth the money. Joy is an incredibly kind & genuine man, just trying to make a living for he & his family. He spends hours out on the beach trying to get people to sign up for his tours, that says a lot about his work ethic & it definitely carried over onto the vessel as well. He greeted us on the beach the morning of the tour & was there again to welcome us back when we returned. It's those little personal touches that make all the difference. We were so pleased with our experience that we immediately recommended him to others on the beach who were still deciding. We gave him & his team high kudos; they decided to book a tour with him. They were extremely pleased with it when they got back as well, they couldn't wait to tell us about it when they returned! As a thank you, Joy gifted us some fresh grown mangoes from his property, they were absolutely delicious!Beginning the tour, they picked us up right on the shoreline of the resort, which was great. The tour itself was just as memorable. Our boat captain, Raymond, was extremely humble & very sincere man. He began our journey with a very heartfelt prayer & shared a very touching story about his father who is 90. We had recently lost my husband's father a couple months ago, who was 95 & hearing Raymond speak so fondly about his dad, brought tears to my eyes.Raymond was very committed & professional & that was very reassuring, he made it clear that he does not indulge in any of the "extras" while operating the vessel & we respected that deeply. (i.e. rum punch at the end of tour) We really enjoyed listening to him. Then, there was Vaughn, what a character! He brought so much energy & fun to the tour. Beyond his humor & charm, he was very entertaining, but he was also full of interesting facts & stories. Honestly, I told my husband & other guests that I could have spent the entire day just cruising & listening to him talk, he made the ride both educational & thoroughly entertaining! Our first stop was in Soufriere. We transferred from our boat to a bus that took us through the town & to the famous mud baths, hot springs & waterfall. The mud bath & hot springs experience was so much fun, very spiritual & made our 30th Anniversary trip more memorable. The hot springs, said to be around 100 degrees F, but it didn't feel that hot, but was very soothing. From there, we visited the remnants of the island's volcano, a fascinating bit of natural history & then headed to the waterfall. Ladies, if you are wearing a bikini, be sure to hold onto your top! The waterfall is very intense, powerful, but also very refreshing. Our group was practically the only group there, so it made it feel more private. It is our understanding, that it is much more crowded when there is a cruise ship in port!Next, an Authentic Home-Cooked meal at Joy's own home where we got a personal tour of his garden full of plants & fruit trees. Afterward, we were invited onto his patio for an authentic Caribbean lunch, prepared by his wife, daughter & staff. The food was fantastic. There were so many choices, but my personal favorites were the chicken, okra & fresh fruits. The homemade mango & papaya punch was absolutely delicious!Snorkeling From there, we headed to sugar beach. It's located between the Piton Mountains & it's located near a resort, so it was a bit crowded, but the snorkeling was still fantastic. Unfortunately, my snorkel, provided by the tour, was broken, so my husband & I had to share, not ideal, but we made it work! We both agreed we wished we'd had more time there; 45-minutes flew by way-too-fast. An hour & a half or more would have been perfect. As we boarded the boat to head back to the resort, we stopped to take pictures of the Pitons & other landmarks. To wrap up the day, we were treated to rum punch or Piton Beer on the boat, the rum punch was delicious & a perfect end to the trip. All in all, Joy's Tour was worth every penny. It felt personal, heartfelt & authentic. It was more than just a day trip, it was an experience full of culture, laughter & memories to last a lifetime! Every part of the trip was thoughtfully put together! If you are looking for something beyond the typical resort excursions, this is it. We can't recommend Joy's Boat & Land Tour enough. Don't hesitate - you will leave with memories (and maybe some tasty mangoes) that will last a lifetime! It may end up being the best part of your vacation! Thank you, Joy & Family!! Libby Brooks2025-07-06Verified JOY IS THE MAN!! Joy is amazing. His home and lunch spot is very welcoming. His crew does a fantastic job giving you a taste of each gem of the island. My fiancé and I had a great time . The crew is unspeakably amazing and the tour itself: never a dull moment. If you’re in St Lucia, GO WITH JOY! You will see everything!!! megmack2025-07-06Verified Highlight of our trip! We met JOY on the resort and arranged for a private excursion for four. The boat can hold around 20+. After 45" we saw the Piton mountains and continued to the sulfur springs and mudbaths. a short ride later we were immersed in their famous waterfall where many pictures were taken by our guide during all of the unique features of our trip. A special treat awaited us with lunch at Joy's house surrounded by impressive well marked gardens. His family provided us with a homemade lunch representing cultural flavors. Very tasty! On the way back we stopped at Sugar beach where you could relax. swim or snorkle. The total time for the trip took about 6-6 1/2 costing 1500$. A public charter is around 130$ a person. The Captain and crew were alot of fun and were great educating us to history and life on the Island. Jennifer W2025-07-04Verified A must book!!!! Amazing excursion. From the time Joy walks you to the boat himself and greets you when you come back. Lunch at Joys beautiful home/restaurant was so fresh and delicious! Snorkeling at Sugar Beach, if your into snorkeling has the best fish according to my brother in law who snorkels all the time. Mud baths and water fall were alot of fun as well. Captain Raymond excellent! Shane and Vaughn were the life of the party! Very seamless operation! Thanks again Joy ❤️ PS Joy hangs on the beach over by Morgans Pier HBGurl19662025-07-04Verified Fun time with Joy's Adventure Excursion and Coastal Cruise Before coming to St. Lucia, I booked an activity on Viator to Sulphur Springs Mud Bath and Waterfall Tour with a Creole Lunch. I ended up cancelling this activity when our resort butler informed us that the resort we were staying at offered a similar tour but the resort's tour also included snorkeling at Sugar Beach. This tour was through Joy’s Adventure Excursions and Coastal Cruises. It was also an approximately 6-hour activity vs a 4-hour activity with Viator.Joy’s Adventure Excursions and Coastal Cruises’ catamaran picked our group at our resort’s marina. There were already other guests on the catamaran from a different resort. Our catamaran was manned by an energetic 3-man crew. I believe our captain’s name was Raymond and his two crewmen were AWESOME! I wish I could remember their names! Our cruise from our resort to our first stop to Soufriere was quick. In Soufriere, we were picked up by a small bus and quickly made our way to the Sulphur Springs Mud Bath. TBH, I didn’t think this was all that. It was crowded with other tour groups and there were three small black-water pools filled with people. After you come out of the pool, you apply the gray sulphur to your body and then you can “paint” or leave black-colored sulphur handprints on your partner’s or friend’s body. I didn’t participate in the festivities, but my husband did. But he wasn’t all that impressed either. I guess I’m spoiled because I’ve been to Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Temescal Valley, CA and they set the bar very high. Anyhow, our crew members took pictures of all the “painted” people in our group. This activity was probably over in less than 40 minutes. No need to wear an old bathing suit as the sulphur will not stain. Showers are available to quickly rinse the sulphur off. If anyone were to ask if I’d recommend this activity I’d advise against it. It’s just not worth the price especially if your transportation is not included. I am certainly glad I cancelled this activity with the other activity company.Next up was our stop at Toraille Waterfall, also in Soufriere. This was also a quick stop and I’m sure it was about 40 minutes long - if that. It too, was very crowded. The water was cool and refreshing and a good place for a photo op.Before we headed back to the boat, we stopped at Joy’s “House” for a creole lunch. Joy, by the way, is a man. The house is surrounded by a garden full of a variety of home grown herbs. There were several items that I could not eat due to allergies, so I stuck to the mac ’n’ cheese and the creole rice. There was also the native dish of green fig and salt fish salad, curried chicken, pork and beans, fried banana slices, and fruit juices. We headed back to the marina to board the boat to our last stop which was Sugar Beach. I have read travel news and have seen social media posts stating Sugar Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. But I would have to disagree. While it is nestled at the base of the UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Piton Mountains, I have definitely seen more beautiful beaches (i.e. Maui’s own Sugar Beach, French Polynesia, Mexico, etc). Sugar Beach is a public beach but more than half of it is for guest use of the Viceroy Resort which sits on this beach. There is an area that is cordoned off for snorkeling off the beach and my husband and I were able to enjoy a brief snorkel. This was probably the best part of this excursion/activity. I would say we spent maybe a little over an hour here before getting back on the boat for our ride back to our resort. The boat crew, as I mentioned earlier, was energetic. They were lively, funny, and would stop on occasion to draw attention to points of interest along the coastline. They also treated us to generous cups of rum punch. I would definitely recommend this excursion/activity. It was more of a comprehensive excursion that included three activities, lunch and transportation. It was worth the cost per person as opposed to purchasing these activities separately. Taylor T2025-07-03Verified The best of St Lucia My partner and I stayed at secrets where we met Joy and booked our cruise the following day. We have been to many resorts and done many snorkeling charters. This particular excursion was by far the best we have ever been on. We started at 8:20 am where we were picked up on the beach. We stopped at Zoetri to pick up so additional guest. From there we were taken to the Sulphur springs to enjoy the mineral baths. We then proceeded to a beautiful waterfall for pictures and a cold plunge. Once everyone got the chance to swim under the waterfall, we were taken to Joy’s home where a delicious lunch was waiting for us. Our final stop of the trip was the iconic sugar beach. We spent about an hour here snorkeling, taking in the pitons, and meeting new friends. Our trip back we played music, drink beer/rum punch and laughed our heads off at Vaughn dancing while cracking jokes. Captain Raymond, Shane and Vaughn made our experience so memorable and it was definitely the highlight of our trip to St Lucia. We will be back and can’t wait to take another trip with Joy and his team. Christie J2025-07-03Verified Look no further, Book with Joy! Joy Adventures was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken! The owner, Joy, is incredibly friendly and genuine. Captain Raymond and the tour guides, Shane and Vaughn, were extremely entertaining and informative. They were patient at each stop and took the best photos. Joy’s homemade food buffet and herbal garden on the property were also amazing. Payment and deposit were easy, and the price was worth every penny and then some! If you’re interested in visiting the mud bath and waterfall of St. Lucia, I highly recommend booking this tour through Joy Adventures. Melinda C2025-07-01Verified Absolutely awesome! Don't miss out! An absolute must do in St. Lucia! We had the pleasure of going on an excursion with Joy's Cruises last week and can't say enough about what a great time we had. The crew were fantastic and shared interesting and fun facts with us as we cruised along the coast. Their jokes and infectious positive energy made the tour an absolute blast. This would have been enough to warrant a 5 star rating, but there was more. While booking the excursion with Joy on the beach of the Secrets St. Lucia resort, he overheard me tell my husband that the day of the excursion would be our 20th wedding anniversary. He immediately promised that it would be an anniversary we would not forget...and he delivered. During the lunch stop at Joy's house, the team made an announcement to our fellow tour mates and presented us with a personalized cake and bottles of champagne to share and celebrate the occasion. Such an amazingly thoughtful thing to do! We couldn't believe how they went out of their way to do this for us. The tour, lunch, Joy and the crew are all amazing...don't miss out! Edward L2025-07-01Verified Best excursion on the island This was the most amazing trip! I would recommend this over any excursion on the island ! Mud bath amazing crew water fall ! Lunch was Amazing! Then snorkeling! Best money I spent on this trip! S Price2025-06-30Verified Best Excursion in the Caribbean!!! This excursion is the best adventure in the Caribbean. Raymond was our captain and he did an excellent job gettin us to the locations safe. Vaughn was our group leader. His exuberance made the trip top tier. We have done several excursions throughout our travels and nothing compares to Joys’s. You start on a boat ride and then are taxied up to the sulphur hot springs. At the hot springs you cover yourself in mud take fun pictures and then enjoy a relaxing dip in the volcanic hot springs. After that you head down to diamond waterfall. It’s breath taking and you get to enjoy standing underneath it. And of course you get more pictures. Then it’s time for lunch. It was the best food we had on our trip! Lastly, you head to sugar beach for snorkeling before taking the boat back to your hotel. It was the best day!!
